Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Functional QA Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our team.In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our software products by performing comprehensive functional testing, tracking defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business requirements. You’ll also contribute to process improvements and mentor junior team members.

Responsibilities:

Test Planning & Execution:

  • Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and scenarios to ensure complete coverage of product functionality.
  • Review business requirements and technical specifications to align with test strategies.
  • Perform manual testing across web, mobile, and desktop applications, validating featuresand workflows.

Defect Management:

  • Track, prioritize, and report defects using tools like Jira, Bugzilla, or Trello.
  • Collaborate with developers to resolve issues and validate defect fixes through regression testing.

Regression & UAT Testing:

  • Perform regression testing to ensure new features don’t break existing functionality.
  • Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring end-user needs and business requirements are met.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and analysts to align on test objectives and quality goals.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, reviews) and communicate testing progress.

Test Case Management & Reporting:

  • Create and maintain detailed, reusable test cases to cover key functionality and edge cases.
  • Regularly report on test progress, coverage, and gaps, ensuring full visibility to stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Contribute to improving QA processes, tools, and testing practices.
  • Share best practices with the team to raise overall quality standards.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Solid experience in test case creation, execution, and defect management.
  • Proficiency with defect tracking tools like Jira, Bugzilla, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with UI testing, API testing, and integration testing.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify critical issues or gaps in functionality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and report findings clearly.
  • SQL knowledge for database testing and validating data integrity.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cypress) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with performance or security testing.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) is beneficial.

Education + Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in manual functional testing in an Agile environment.
