Job Description:
Senior Test Automation Engineer plays a critical part in ensuring the quality and efficiency of
software testing processes, contributing to faster and more reliable software releases. He/She
collaborates closely with QA teams, developers, and other stakeholders to automate test cases,
execute automated tests, and identify and report defects.
Key Responsible:
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and test frameworks using industry-standard tools and languages.
- Collaborate with QA teams and other stakeholders to define test automation strategies, frameworks, and approaches for various projects.
- Setting up from the ground up well-designed, efficient, maintainable test automation frameworks that provide clear, actionable test execution reports.
- Create and review automated test cases based on project requirements and user stories.
- Execute automated test suites, analyze test results, and identify defects, ensuring thorough test coverage.
- Integrate automated tests into the continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline to support regular and automated testing.
- Maintain and update automated test scripts as the application evolves, and document test cases and procedures.
- Collaborate with performance testing teams to automate performance and load tests.
- Mentor junior automation engineers and share best practices within the team.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest test automation tools and technologies, evaluate their suitability for the project, and make recommendations.
- Manage and create test data required for automated testing.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven expertise in test automation frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in test automation (e.g., Java, Python or Javascript).
- Strong knowledge of test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Appium, Playwright, Flutter).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. SVN and Git).
- Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, AWS Code Pipeline, Git Actions).
- Strong understanding of software testing concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
- Knowledge of manual testing processes to assist in test case creation and analysis.
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications specific to test automation tools are beneficial.
Education + Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Typically, 4+ years of experience in test automation.
