Job Description:
- Designing databases with both front-end and back-end users in mind.
- Monitoring system performance and identifying problems that arise.
- Reporting on metrics regarding usage and performance.
- Build database systems of high quality and availability.
- Updating systems when necessary and creating data backups.
- Minimize database downtime and optimize database for better query responses.
- Protecting the database against threats or unauthorized access.
- Suggesting changes and improvements for database maintenance or protection.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Should have proficiency in data manipulation languages, including MS SQL, Oracle Database or PostgreSQL.
- Should have experience working with multiple operating systems.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized and responsible.
- Capable of working under pressure.
- Up to date with trends and developments in database administration.
- Any experience with any web development is preferred.
Education + Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience as a database administrator.
