Job Description:
Software QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through comprehensive testing and quality assurance practices. As a key member of our development team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address software defects, perform test planning and execution, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing to identify software defects and ensure proper functioning of the applications.
- Collaborate closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand software requirements and contribute to the development process.
- Identify and document software defects and work with the development team to investigate and resolve issues.
- Track and report testing progress, test coverage, and quality metrics to project stakeholders.
- Participate in agile development processes, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to the improvement of QA processes and practices, including the adoption of automated testing tools and frameworks.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in software testing and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and alignment on software quality goals and objectives.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, testing techniques, and quality assurance principles.
- Proficiency in manual testing techniques and experience with test case creation and execution.
- Experience with bug tracking systems and test management tools like JIRA.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and working in an agile environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks or projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Experience with test automation tools like Selenium, Playwright, etc.
- Experience with JMeter is a plus.
Education + Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- More than 3 years of experience as Software QA Engineer.
