Job Description:
- Conducts database design, database structure identification, database schema definition, database access privilege management, database query optimization, documentation, database instance upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and database protection.
- Reviews data within the database, ensuring user database integrity, maintaining database support tools, database tables, and dictionaries, recovery and backup procedures, and making recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
- Reviews and forecasts database requirements, ensuring that all storage, processing, communications, and data reliability needs are met and making recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements for effective ongoing database operation.
- Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong proficiency in MySQL database management and Should be well Familiar with other SQL/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
- Understanding of MySQL’s underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and MyISAM
- Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL
- Proficient in writing and optimizing Database queries and procedure statements
- Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
- Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary. Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases
Education + Experience:
- At least Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 1-3 Years of experience in database management.
