Jagadamba Press is one of Nepal's oldest presses and was started by linguist and historian, Kamal Dixit. His sons Kunda and Kanak Dixit who are noted Nepali journalists and publishers revamped the press in 1993 and converted it into an international class printing facility. The press has recently expanded and moved to a sate-of-the-art complex in Hattiban outside Kathmandu and is embarked on an ambitious expansion plan to inc ... rease capacity and quality. Jagadamba Press has been in continuous operation since 1954 (60 Years in operation!). For many years it used cold movable type on a treadle machine to print books in Nepali. In 1975 the Press set up its own type foundry to meet the growing demand of the Nepali printing industry. Ever since these early letter press days Jagadamba has been known for the quality of its production: books, magazines and jobs of major Nepali business houses. The press embarked on a major modernisation drive in 1988 with the shift to offset and the induction of two single colour Adast Dominant presses as well as camera plate maker section and desk-topping unit. Jagadamba soon became renowned for its international standard of production quality, reliability and speed of delivery.
