Life has just started to become normal after the COVID Pandemic. People are working hard to get back to normal as soon as possible. Businesses are planning to welcome staff back to the office after one and a half years of working from home. But, Do employees want to continue their work from the office? Or Home? There might be another sweet spot to continue the work culture.
The hybrid model is something that many professionals from around the globe are planning to adopt in their organizations. In this model, staff can work from home and office as well. A regulation has to be made and employees can choose whether to work from home or office. They can even make a weekly schedule to divide work from home and office.
The majority of Fortune 500 companies have already let their employees decide the work culture they want to continue at their organization. According to a survey done at Harvard Business School, 61% of 1500 professionals would like to continue remote work at least 2 days a week. Just 18% of professionals would like to go to the office full time.

Hybrid Work Model also helps employees to increase productivity and job satisfaction rate. Research has shown that staff is more into collaboration and works relationships during remote work practice that surely betterment the outcome.
But, Companies need to have proper systems and processes before adopting a hybrid culture. Employees find it difficult to communicate in real-time. Also, access to applications and technology might differ between work from office and home.

Great mental wellness and job satisfaction have to be the gateway to highly productive staff and employees. Also, professionals can have their personal space and they can think better when they are in their personal space. Hybrid Work Model allows employees to become broader during their work and find the solution to a specific problem.
The hybrid work model is highly supportive of people and employees associated with the business. Also, this allows businesses to hire more talented people at their organization. This is another way to attract highly effective professionals to the organization.
Hybrid Models also improve the relationship between employer and employee. Trust between both parties will increase in this work model.
With the use of different applications and software in work during the hybrid work practice, the performance of employees can easily be measured. This allows employees themselves to track their work and improve accordingly.
The overall business spending will be less if businesses adopt this work culture at their business. cost of rent, electricity, internet to office infrastructure everything will be decreased and that can be used to make employees happier.
Employees can save their salaries and incentives more than that in office work. Food, Travel, and other expenses can easily be saved during a hybrid work model.
Employees can continue their learning and personal development. This however seems like a loss to office time in the beginning but it's a win in long run.

Challenges for Hybrid Work
Many people still have the traditional mindset when it comes to work, practice, study, etc. So, it might be difficult for some people to adopt a hybrid work model. Some might even find it difficult to set up a workspace at their home. Following this, there might still be some disadvantages for hybrid Work for some types of companies, industries, and last but not the least, employees.
A big challenge to acquiring a hybrid work model in any company is the chance of misalignment between office employees and remote employees. So, the culture has to be developed in such a way that employees in remote work don't have to collaborate with other team members and can automate the work.
During meetings and standups, it's slightly challenging to mention and include employees working from home. A proper culture has to be implemented to overcome this challenge.
Well, travel allowance and other allowance can be cut-off but managing internet and electricity bills is another challenge for businesses in a hybrid work model. Also, managing work setup at the home is another challenge for employees and employers as well.
As we mentioned, the performance of employees can be tracked using tools and technologies, what about some companies not adopting these tools and technologies. Companies not being familiar with technology might suffer from tricky employees.
Managers might find it difficult to encounter people who are not making the best use of time.
Another challenge or disadvantage of remote practice is that family members might be distracted at any time. This might lead to low performance, late project completion, and low output. So, it's another challenge to balance work-life in a hybrid work model too.
It might also be difficult for employees to manage office time. To elaborate, work from home might not be bound to the office hour only. It can take longer to complete a task.
Outcome/Productivity in Hybrid Work Model
A proven fact is if a company has a proper system, tools, process, and technology work from home only can be super effective. But, companies with poor management, system, culture, and less attachment of staff to the company can’t perform better even in work from the office.
Let’s talk about the companies with proper management. Companies with amazing cultures can themselves get an attachment from employees. If companies hire passionate people, who love their work and treat them well later, then the hybrid model can be super effective.
Talking about the outcome of the hybrid model, it might be degraded at the beginning, but after being completely adaptive to this the productivity will skyrocket.
A fact to support the hybrid work model and work from home practice is that big tech giants like Facebook, Google, Microsoft are working remotely and their revenue is increasing daily. Even Nepali IT companies are doing amazing in remote work practice. So, we are just one step away from moving to a hybrid work model and that is the proper system.

Well, no one had thought of organizing an online exam in higher education. No one had thought about how someone can build a million, even billion-dollar business without investing in a physical setup.
So, there is a possible way to balance office work and remote work as the hybrid work model. The need for technology, application, and system has risen rapidly as people are becoming tech-friendly. And with the help of skilled professionals in related fields hybrid culture can be deployed and it can be super effective.
