Job Description:
Test Automation Engineer is responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining automated tests to ensure the quality of software applications. They have to create automated tests, analyze results, and partner with development teams to ensure successful implementation and delivery of software products. They also need to design test plans and test cases, perform manual testing and develop automation scripts and execute tests using automated testing tools and frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Understand and analyze software requirements and specifications to identify testing objectives and strategies.
- Develop test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and other related test documentation based on requirements and specifications.
- Execute manual tests to ensure that the software meets the specified requirements and that it is free of defects and issues.
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using various test automation tools, frameworks, and programming languages.
- Identify and report software defects, track and verify bug fixes, and maintain detailed documentation of test results.
- Participate in project planning and estimation, and provide inputs to the development team for improving the software quality.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the automation test strategy, framework, and tools to increase test coverage and reduce test cycle time.
- Participate in test plan reviews, and product documentation reviews to ensure the software product meets the quality standards.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that the software product meets the functional, performance, security, and usability requirements.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies, tools, and trends in test automation, and apply them to improve the automation test process.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Fluent in using TestNG and BDD Framework.
- Experience with programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.
- Knowledge of web services, APIs, and databases
- Good Knowledge of SQL commands and procedures
- Experience with source control systems such as GIT, SVN, etc.
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) tools
- Good understanding of Load testing and API testing.
- Understanding of software development life cycle and software testing principles
- Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum development process
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Education + Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with bachelor's degree
