Job Description:
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
- Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions and work with developers to implement those fixes
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
- Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
- Supervise 2nd and 3rd level support
- Perform R&D work on any given task related to their duties and responsibilities
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
- Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork
- Work concurrently on several projects, each with specific instructions that may differ from project to project
- Work directly with developers to debug problems and solutions
- Lead and contribute to the development, maintenance, and usage of deployment and task automation (OS, database services, virtual networks, or other platform services)
- Review and influence new and evolving designs, architectures, standards, and methods for operating services and systems
- Submit daily job reports, other reports in due time
- Perform all other technical and documentation duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven working experience in installing, configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux/Windows based environments
- Experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g.,Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, Ruby, NGINX)
- Experience with networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
- Experience with Cloud networking, preferably in AWS
- Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box, Vagrant, Docker, Citrix)
- Experience with automation software (e.g. Ansible, Chef)
- Good scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Python and similar scripting languages in different OS)
- Hands-on experience with Firewall and Switch
- Strong Knowledge about the subject area in which they are working
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to pay careful attention to detail
- Willing to work during odd working hours
- Ability to work under tight time constraints with dynamic requirements
