Job Description:
Core Responsibilities
- Ownership of system design and software development on a variety of hardware projects and development platforms
- Design and develop software for robotic control
- Stay current on latest technologies and best practices
- Implementation of complex algorithms or control routines on embedded systems
- Writing programs and scripts as necessary software systems
- Work closely with various core tech teams and other organizations to define prototyping scope and applications towards various technology roadmaps and products
- Provide mentorship to mid and junior level firmware developers on the team
- Dedication to produce clean code that validates and follows industry coding style standards
Required Skills
- Excellent organization and communication skill, both verbal and written
- Experience in solving non-trivial software problems under time pressure
- Ability to debug and problem solve in unfamiliar codebases and environments
- Strong experience with containerization and orchestration
- Follow test-driven development best practices
- Strong experience designed and developing event-driven service architectures
- Experience with Object-Oriented Programming
- Working experience of using Git
- Working experience of Docker or similar
Desired Skills
- Experience with protocol design, specification, and implementation
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python
- Experience with Database: MySQL, MS SQL, etc.
- Experience with third-party APIs (JSON, XML, Ajax)
- Experience with ROS (Robot operating system)
- Experience with industrial automation and robotic control systems

Education + Experience:
- BS in Robotics Engineering or Computer Science
- 7+ years experience with driver and board-level system software development
- 7+ years experience with C++
