Job Description:
As a Senior Data Engineer, where your expertise in data engineering and data analytics will be pivotal in transforming the insurance industry. This hands-on role requires a combination of technical proficiency, effective communication, and strategic thinking.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Engaging with business stakeholders to understand and define business requirements, ensuring that data solutions are aligned with business goals.
- Leading the design, development, and implementation of data warehousing and data cataloging solutions, ensuring they effectively support data storage and retrieval needs.
- Developing and optimizing data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure efficient and reliable data flow from various sources into the data warehouse.
- Creating and maintaining BI dashboards using Tableau, focusing on the accurate representation of key insurance industry metrics and insights.
- Managing the ongoing maintenance and monitoring of data infrastructure to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Proactively identifying and addressing data quality issues, implementing strategies and tools to ensure data accuracy and consistency across the organization.
- Developing data quality metrics and conducting regular data audits and manual investigations to validate data integrity and compliance with quality standards.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive experience in large-scale data systems with relational databases and NoSQL technology on the public cloud (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
- Proficiency in coding languages such as Python and SQL.
- Extensive experience in designing and deploying data solutions using AWS services like Redshift, Appflow, and Airflow DAG.
- Familiarity with data pipeline and transformation tools like DBT.
- Deep experience with BI tools, specifically Tableau, and the ability to work with stakeholders to understand and implement KPIs and metrics.
- Experience with ETL, ELT, and other data processing methodologies.
- A proven track record of operationalizing data systems for scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Solid understanding of PII standards, processes, and security protocols.
Desirables:
- Comprehensive understanding of P&C insurance data models, ACORD standards, and OMG standards.
- Experience with Salesforce (desirable).
Education + Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in data engineering roles, with a hands-on approach.
