It seeks to build the capacity of and facilitate coordination among the GON, civil society, and private sector to combat human trafficking in Nepal.

Job Description:

The Program Assistant – Counter Trafficking in Persons (CTIP) will provide administrative and programmatic support to the Hamro Samman project’s counter-trafficking activities. Under the guidance of the supervisor, the Program Assistant-CTIP will support the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting on a wide range of project activities, ensuring their timely, efficient and professional implementation. 

ESSENTIAL REPONSIBILITIES: 

Planning and Implementation: 

• Support in planning, organization and implementation of project activities 

• Provide support, as required and under the guidance of the supervisor, to CSO partners in the implementation of their activities 

• Assist in the preparation of budgeting and work planning 

• Support on assessing capacity of CSO and government partners for controlling human trafficking to prevent, protect, and prosecute TIP. 

• Lead planning and coordination for events, ensuring all logistical arrangements are completed and on time 

• Prepare draft budgets for program activities 

Monitoring and Evaluation: 

• Support the monitoring of activities implemented by grantees and ensure full documentation is on file to document the sub-recipient monitoring 

• Support accurate data entry and verification in the on-line DevResults platform 

• Assist in the organization and management of meetings, workshops and seminars 

Reporting and Documentation: 

• Verify supporting documentation provided by grantees, including narrative and financial reports and data, for accuracy and completeness 

• Identify and prepare short communication blurbs for publication on the project’s Facebook page 

• Support preparation of high-quality, accurate and detailed monthly and other reports in English, and support provision of high quality contributions to quarterly reports and annual reports Maintain appropriate and organized files and documentation 

Team collaboration and coordination: 

• Work collaboratively and in timely coordination among other program team and office team to achieve project’s deliverables. 

• Provide assistance with translation and interpretation between English and Nepali as needed 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge on CTIP issues, drivers and human trafficking and foreign labor migration. 

• Excellent panning and problem-solving skills 

• Knowledge on data collection and reporting 

• Good management, communication, and negotiation skills with ability to coordinate and liaise with multiple partners and stakeholders to collect and share data 

• Good written and oral communication skills in Nepali and English are required. 

• Good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, other office package

Analytical skills: Ability to analyze information and solve problems with excellent attention to detail. 

Must be dynamic, proactive, interested in learning and interested in working in a high-paced position 

Education + Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in human rights, law, relevant field. 
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience, preferably with an INGO or international organization. 
  • Experience in data collection and reporting. 
  • Experience on socio, economic and political context governing anti-trafficking and safe migration issues, preferred.
