As a Product Owner within our dynamic fintech software team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and success of our cutting-edge financial technology products. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, engineering teams, and UX/UI designers to define and prioritize product features and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions. Your deep understanding of both the fintech industry and software development processes will enable you to guide the team in delivering innovative products that meet the needs of our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Product Strategy and Vision:
  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy aligned with the overall company objectives.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and gather customer feedback to identify market trends and opportunities.
  • Define and prioritize product features and enhancements based on user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product alignment with company objectives and roadmap.
• Product Planning and Roadmap:
  • Create and maintain a product roadmap that outlines the product vision, milestones, and release plans.
  • Break down high-level product requirements into detailed user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to estimate and prioritize backlog items.
  • Continuously refine and reprioritize the backlog based on changing market conditions and business priorities.
• Agile Development and Execution:
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software releases.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in the agile development process, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Provide guidance and clarification to the development team during the implementation of product features.
  • Conduct acceptance testing and validation of completed features to ensure they meet defined acceptance criteria.
• Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including business owners, marketing, sales, and customer support teams.
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders to understand their needs and incorporate them into the product roadmap and priorities.
  • Communicate product updates, progress, and roadmap changes to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and managing expectations.
• User Experience and Design:
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces that meet user needs and align with the product vision.
  • Provide input and feedback on design prototypes, wireframes, and user flows to ensure they are aligned with product requirements.
  • Conduct usability testing and user research to gather insights and validate design decisions.

• Deep understanding of fintech products, financial services. Necessary training will be provided about the Credit & Financial regulations in Australia
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, particularly Agile/Scrum.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to balance business objectives, user needs, and technical constraints to prioritize product features.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and interpret data, make data-driven decisions and monitor product performance.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with user-centered design principles and usability testing.
• Familiarity with project management tools and software development practices (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, Business, etc.). A master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience of 3 years working as a Product Owner or similar role. Experience in Financial Technology is a plus.
