Job Description:
Software Product Management Specialist guides, coaches and monitors multiple products, projects and their teams through and by establishing standard best practices of software development and product management life cycle. The person will play a role as consultant without directly working inside the respective teams.
Responsibilities
- Understand and review new and existing IT software products, processes, structure and practices.
- Develop and improve best practices of software development life cycle suitable according to the nature and scope of products and teams.
- Coach and provide guidance on implementation of best practices of software development and product management lifecycle.
- Train teams on Software product management and project management, Agile Values and Principles and Software Development Frameworks like Scrum, Kanban and Scrumban.
- Conduct review and audit sessions of implemented processes, policies, developed products and features.
- Provide feedback and action on non-conformances and track progress till it's resolution.
- Coordinate with departments like Engineering, IT System, Business, HR and Admin to assist in reviewing and implementing best practices of respective departments in the products.
- Prepare and present periodic reports on project status, process compliance and overall health of product and team to the management and stakeholders.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with working and implementing best practices and trends of software development and product management lifecycle.
- Good Knowledge of Software product management and project management, Agile Values and Principles and Development Frameworks like Scrum, Kanban and Scrumban.
- Strong business acumen, good communication and documentation skills.
- Detail-oriented, analytical and inquisitive.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Big Picture thinking.
- Ability to work independently as well as to coordinate with others for getting things done.
Education + Experience:
- Preferred Bachelor in IT-related courses and an MBA degree would be a plus point.
- Minimum 3 years or more of similar software industry experience.
- Preferred experience as IT Business Analyst, Software QA Engineer, Software Engineer, Project Coordinator/Manager in an Agile environment.
