Human Rights and Environment Development Center (HuRENDEC) is a leading non- profit making Non- Government Organization (NGO) registered in Kalikot district. Kalikot is a mountainous district of mid- western development region of Nepal lying in the southwest part of Karnali zone. It consists of 3 municipalities and 7 rural municipalities. Its major areas for working are Livelihood support, Micro Enterprise Development, Good-governance, Disaster Risk Reduction, Rehabilitation/Recovery Response, Natural Resource Management and Environment friendly rural infrastructure, Sustainable Utilization of (natural) Resources and Promotion of Renewable Energy Technologies for addressing adverse effects of the Climate Change. Job Description:

Major Responsibility

  • Community Mobilizer is responsible for community group formation (community disaster management committee, farmers group, water users group), social mobilization, conducting community risk assessment process, facilitating community level capacity building interventions, data collection, meeting with the local government officials, and coordinating and networking with I/NGOs working in the areas. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate experience in conducting risk assessments and facilitating community meetings and trainings.  

Education + Experience:

  • The Proficiency Certificate level (PCL) or 10+2 in any subjects with minimum 3 years of work experience in community mobilization related to agriculture, food security, nutrition, natural resource management, disaster risk reduction and community infrastructure works.
