Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Customization and Theming of the various websites running on the Open edX
- Design and develop new features for the Open edX on AWS
- Administrate content in OpenEDX
- Be adept at using Python, Django with front end technologies like HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
- Work on bug fixes and live-site issue resolution for the Open edX on Azure platform
- Ensure code and design reviews are performed and all feedback is addressed prior to work completion
- Create functional tests and perform security and quality control checks prior to production deployments
- Co-ordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop new features with site graphics, content, capacity and interactivity
- Participate in daily scrum calls and provide status on project deliverables
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in integrating live sessions/webinars, payment gateways, and web services plugins.
- Advanced knowledge and comfort with PHP, Python (Django),MySQL, HTML, CSS, jQuer.
- Experience in customizing Open edX instances includingXBlocks, LTIs and APIs
- Working knowledge of edX internationalization
- Working knowledge of any Learning Management System(LMS)
- Ability to coordinate with multiple teams, with a drive to build excellent products
Education + Experience:
- 1-5 years of experience as an Open edX developer
- Proven success in Open edX technology development, integration on AWS or Azure cloud, and usage of custom themes.
