Job Description:
This position provides the networking, security and digital forensic labs with hardware and software support. The position is responsible for coordinating use, cleaning, storage and inventory of equipment used for on-campus lab classes and open lab sessions. This position also provides instructional assistance and support to faculty and students. A successful candidate will work with the Ethical Hacking and Cyber security Department.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and test all network connections (wired and Wireless) and LAN servers to baseline standard
- Provide hardware and software setup, support and troubleshooting for networking, cyber security & digital forensic labs
- Maintain documentation adequate to ensure operational continuity
- Assist faculty with troubleshooting problems or questions regarding the use of equipment or software
- Administer assigned servers, apply patches, and resolve issues
- Supervise students during open lab times and maintain usage records
- Maintaining a daily work log
- Perform related duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience hands-on with Cisco networking equipment and Microsoft server and desktop operating systems are highly desired
- Network security concepts (VPN, Firewall, IDS)
- Familiar with Linux environment
- Familiar with automation and network monitoring Tools
Education + Experience:
- Knowledge of standard technology support procedures and practices obtained by any level degree or a minimum of 6 months technology support experience
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable
