Job Description:

Work closely with concerned VSO and partners team to facilitate the implementation of Volunteering for Development (VfD) - SYAHAAR – Strengthening Access to Adolescent Holistic Health Right focused on promoting the right to quality health and well-being for all youth and adolescents (aged 10 to 24 years) especially those who are marginalised and vulnerable through VfD.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Essential criteria (must have to be able to carry out the role successfully)

Knowledge/qualifications:

  • Public Health/Nursing/Gender studies/ other relevant field of study
  • At least a year of experience of working on Sexual, reproductive, maternal and neonatal health.

Experience:

  • Previous experience of working in the field of women and girls’ empowerment, GBV, education, or sexual reproductive health rights is required.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Facilitation of capacity building events on health specially youth and adolescent health
  • Coordination with stakeholders, line agencies and partner organization
  • Report writing,

Desirable Criteria: (skills that could be an advantage in the role)

Knowledge/qualifications:

  • Capacity building of youth and their networks.

Experience:

  • Previous experience of social accountability and resilience promotion.
  • Previous experience of working with local government in influencing health financing.
  • Partner management

Benefits:

Allowance:

  • As a VSO volunteer, you will be sharing your skills with local communities on a full time basis. VSO will cover your travel, vaccinations, accommodation, and medical insurance costs, along with a local living allowance which will be paid in local currency. This allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home. You will also receive some financial support to contribute to your on-going expenses at home.

Accommodation:

  • VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.
