Department: Web Development
Title: Lead Software Engineer
Reporting To: General Manager
We are looking for a passionate Lead Software Engineer to design, develop and install software solutions by leading a team to achieve targeted goals. Your primary role is to build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software that complies with coding standards and technical design. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, debug and support web applications and their infrastructure.
- Produce materials to support technical documentations, including code documentations.
- Create technical design documents from the business and technical requirements, and describe levels of effort involved.
- Deliver features in an end-to-end manner: technical design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Work closely with the Product Manager to translate product requirements to engineering specifications.
- Ensure excellent code quality through code reviews, periodic audits, and implementation of best practices on related projects.
- Lead code review efforts and quality efforts in your area of ownership.
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems.
- Mentor and guide the team members with close supervision.
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Keep up to date with the latest technologies and introduce them as needed.
- Understand the dynamics and practices in working with a development environment versus a production environment.
- Must have an acute awareness for security and breaches in the application development.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of PHP and web frameworks such as Laravel, MySQL, jQuery, Javascript, HTML, and CSS is a must.
- Understanding of the fully synchronous behavior of PHP, MVC design patterns.
- Ability to troubleshoot, test, and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality.
- Understanding of machine interface technologies like XML, JSON, and REST API’s.
- Version control (git).
- Ability to take up R&D activities and resolve complex problems, work independently.
- Good communication & analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and time management skills.
Education + Experience:
- Experience: At least 3 years
