Job Description:
- Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on the projects.
- Maintain data integrity in all application database.
- Work closely with team lead to design the effective and efficient database schema with ER diagram.
- Install and configure database instances as per requirement in coordination with Infra team.
- Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
- Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query response.
- Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards.
- Develop and define security procedures, administrative controls, monitor user access to databases, and maintain database security.
- Understand the data structure and meaning in both the source and the target BI systems.
- Provide support of maintenance plans (including DBCC), backup, recovery, and refresh of development SQL Server databases and database capacity planning.
- Responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and periodically testing a backup and recovery plan for the databases.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of SQL, MSSQL, MSSQL Cluster, PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of Cloud is a plus.
- Should have knowledge of Linux and Windows OS.
- Ability to work independently on multiple assignments and to work collaboratively within a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills are required.
- Persuasive in both written and verbal communication.
Education + Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Degree in CS, CIS, IT, Software/Computer Engineering, or any related field of study.
- 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator in MSSQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
