Job Description:

Reports to: Associate Dean (Quality and Student Services)

Department: IT Services

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Running regular checks on network and data security
  • Ensure all the Network and Internet are run efficiently and effectively
  • Work on researching new technologies and implementing new technologies to enhance learning and teaching
  • Use IT to automate current manual process in the college
  • Managing all the system software and applications such as Survey Monkey, Zoho, Orbund, Monday.com, CRM and Rigo
  • Identifying and acting on opportunities to improve and update software and systems
  • Developing and implementing IT policy and best practice guides for the organization
  • Designing training programmes and workshops for staff
  • Conducting regular system audits
  • Managing IT staff by recruiting and training employees, communicating job expectations, and monitoring performance
  • Running and sharing regular operation system reports with senior staff
  • Overseeing and determining timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages
  • Managing and reporting on the allocation of IT budget
  • Providing direction for IT team members
  • Identifying opportunities for team training and skills advancement
  • Remaining up to date with advances in technology and industry best practices
  • Support existing/new server/s and administer access rights for all users in the office
  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
  • Audit systems and assess their outcomes
  • Preserve assets, information security and control structures
  • Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures
  • Provide A-related solutions for various IT project and operational needs
  • Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale
  • Resources, systems and key processes reviewing system and application logs, and verifying
  • Completion of scheduled jobs
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions
  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data aresuccessfully backed up to the appropriate media
  • Configure/add new services as necessary
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning,hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required

Qualification

  • Masters in relevant field
  • Proven working experience (3-5 Years) as an IT manager or relevant experience
  • Expertise in data centre management and data governance
  • Polished and professional appearance as well as communication skills

Requirement

  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and computer hardware/software systems
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
  • Ability to manage personnel
  • Management and leadership skills
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
