Group of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal is a non-profit making non-governmental-organization founded in 1996 by a team of professional development workers, who for many years had been involved in Rural Development Programs. The organization has since then successfully implemented various projects in the sectors of sustainable agriculture and food security, natural resource management, climate change, community empowerment, social m ... obilization, lobby and advocacy, civic education, disaster response and reconstruction  and infrastructure (water, sanitation, roads and bridges) development. At present, the organization is implementing several projects in a total of 22 districts of Nepal.

Job Description:

SAHAS Nepal is looking the potential young and energetic candidates who are committed to work with excluded segment of society for the following positions of various projects:

Position: Gender Officer

Project and District: Local Initiative for Food Security Transformation (LIFT Project) and 

Kalikot, Mugu, Bajura, Lalitpur, Udayapur and Okhaldhunga but assign in Province 6.

Required number: 1

Summery of Job: The Gender Officer is responsible for integrating and mainstreaming and pro-active to contribute in the organisation and also for the project on planning, implementation, monitoring of gender related activities and reporting to Project Coordinator. She/he will provide technical support on gender related topics to the Project staffs and also collect gender related cases and submit to local authority. She/he will closely work with LIFT Project Officers, Technical Coordinator and Livelihood Manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • At least 2 years experiences in relevant field with fluent in Nepali and English languages. She/he will enjoy travelling rural areas and empowering women and vulnerable communities must be value-added.

Education + Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Gender Studies, Rural Sociology and Social Work and Development studies
