Job Description:
We are looking for a Front-End Web Developer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.
Responsibilities:
- Develop user-facing features
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use
- Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability.
- Assure that all user input is validated before submitting it to the back-end
- Help improve the overall experience of our product by improving the quality of the front-end features
- Help define and improve our internal standard for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.
- Provide mentorship for Junior and Intermediate engineers in your section to help them grow in their technical responsibilities
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholder
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A solid understanding of core web and browser concepts
- Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
- Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
- Knowledge of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as SCSS and LESS
- Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.
- Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
- Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
- Experience using tools such as Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, InVision, and Axure
- A good understanding of front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap or Semantic UI
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as {{Git / Mercurial / SVN}}
- Self-motivated and self-managing, efficient, with great organizational skills.
- Experience working in an agile/scrum development process.
- Professional experience with VueJS or other JavaScript web frameworks (React, Angular, Ember, etc.) is a nice-to-have skill
