Job Description:

In order to implement WHP-V in five districts of Bagmati province, GTN invites applications from qualified candidates for the following positions;

Position: Field Coordinators

Required number: 3

Duty station:

  1. Kathmandu district: (based in Kathmandu-1)
  2. Kavrepalanchowk and Sinduli districts: (based in Kavrepalanchowk-1)
  3. Chitwan and Makwanpur districts: (based in Makawanpur-1)

Position objectives:

The nbsp;Field Coordinator (FC) is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting of activities in their assigned district(s)under the guidance of the ProgramCoordinatorin collaboration with M&E Officer, and Admin and Finance Officer. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Government coordination/collaboration 
  • Manage and maintain effective coordination and collaboration with local government/authorities/Palikas for smooth implementation of the project.
  • Conduct regular coordination with local government authorities for data reporting from network facilities.

Program planning 

  • Planning and implementation activities at the district.
  • Support Sub-District Officers (SDOs) to prepare a realistic monthly work plan for the effective implementation of project activities.

Network facilities management 

  • Support in implementation of network graduation strategy.
  • Facilitate process of listing facilities for MA service as per safe abortion service guideline.
  • Conduct supportive visits to providers and owners using standard checklists and following standard approach.
  • Facilitate quality assurance visits in network facilities by skilled coaches 
  • Ensure IEC/BCC and promotional materials are used and managed well by Providers at health facilities. 
  • Coordinate with owner/providers for submitting Monthly Progress Report (HMIS 9.3)

Support to Sub-District Officer 

  • Ensure effective mobilization of Sub-District Officers (SDOs) and short-term mobilizers in community events including demand generation activities and service access.
  • Review monthly achievement of SDOs against projection and provide onsite coaching and mentoring.
  • Organize community events of larger scale with support of SDOs.

Recording, reporting, and documentation 

  • Ensure proper handling and maintenance of digital data collection device as per the PSI/Nepal’s Device Handling Standard Operating Procedures
  • Validate the reported data in the DHIS-2 system to match with source documents
  • Build technical capacity of SDOs and Providers on digital data collection system 
  • Prepare and review respective district’s programmatic and financial report and coordinate regularly with the program manager for review and approval.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • An excellent computer skill on Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
  • Prior training in FP and SA will be an asset.
  • Good community mobilization, interpersonal, networking, communication, and management skills.
  • Past experience with similar projects would be an asset.

Other Attributes: 

Excellent quality of work and commitment to high standards, strong communication skills, team building and willingness and motivated for good service delivery with strong networking and interpersonal skills and comfortable to work under stress and pressures.

For all the positions, successful candidates will be appointed for one year with possibility of extension.

Selected candidates must adherence to GTN’s policies and procedures, protocols, code of conduct with special attention to Child Protection Policies and Do No Harm approach including funding agency’s policies, guidelines and agreements.

Education + Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, social science or related discipline.
  • At least three years’ experience in a related field.
