We’re looking for a candidate with product and engineering management experience to join our growing technology team as an Engineering Manager. The Engineering Manager is responsible to oversee and lead the conception, execution, and launch of engineering initiatives that lead to better products. He/she needs to thoroughly understand the business context of the products we develop and make sure the engineering team is well aligned.  He/she will also need to manage communication and coordination among different types of engineers, designers, and analysts working on a project & supervise the project schedule, budget, and communications with stakeholders. 

This role will directly report to the CTO acting as a liaison between upper management and the engineering team. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead to motivate the entire product team to achieve product goals.
• Act as a liaison between upper management and the engineering team.
• Lead and coordinate various engineering functions and operations including quality assurance, testing, production, and research and development of new and existing product lines.
• Instill effective and efficient development practices and testing practices.
• Facilitates communication among clients/customers and engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
• Reviews work and projects for technical accuracy or bring in a process for the same.
• Improve operational efficiency through different initiatives; with documentation of engineering/product processes and systems being one of the most important initiatives.
• Maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency.
• Identify gaps in the team and lead all hiring efforts to build a world-class engineering team.
• Focus on the growth of the entire team professionally and personally
• Work closely with the team to remove their impediments if any and provide both technical, strategic, and tactical guidance.
• Build quarterly engineering KPIs & OKRs for the entire team.
• High-level monitoring  and follow-up on the product OKRs, individual KPIs, and their goals
• Pay attention to detail, yet create a self-managed environment to instill a growth mindset in all the team members
• Mentoring and motivating the team and performing periodic one-on-ones so as to build a rapport with the team members and discuss the opportunities and challenges of day-to-day tasks.
• Aligning the team strategically with the company's direction.
• Negotiates contracts with outside vendors when needed.
