Job Description:
SAHAS Nepal is looking the potential candidates for the following position:
Position: Disaster Risk Reduction Officer
Duty station: Centre Office, Lalitpur
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support program team in planning and implementing of the DRR program
- Facilitate and provide technical support to the team members, stakeholders and communities to conduct Hazard mapping, Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment and social mobilization
- Prepare and assist implement LDCRPs of the project areas
- Support to manage information and knowledge management systems to link national district, municipalities and community level initiatives on DRR
- Coordinate with local government and stakeholders for the program implementation
- Review the national and international policies on DRR
- Frequent visit to the project sites
- Staff supervision and reporting
- Reports preparation
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Good understanding of DRR policies, VCA tools, LDCRP Guidelines
- Willing to travel in project sites frequently and adapt to difficult working conditions
- Should have the ability to use tact and resolve conflicts and achieve results
- Good communication and analytical skills
- Fluent in oral and written Nepali and English language
- Good computer skills
Education + Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Disaster Management, Environment Science or related subjects from recognized university with two years experience in relevant field or Masters Degree in related subject will be preferred
