Job Title: Director of Programs
Fixed Term Contract  from January 1, 2021 - July 2022 (Probable Extension)
Reports to: CEO

About Teach For Nepal: 

Teach For Nepal currently has 137 outstanding university graduates as Fellows teaching in public and government schools in seven districts. By our eight year of engagement in the community we have impacted almost 30,000 plus children.

Job Purpose: 

The Director of the program ensures the strategic alignment, and effectiveness and efficiency of all teams in order to build institutional success towards the one day student vision.

Key Responsibilities: 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Strategic Design and Planning 

  • Design an overall strategic plan for Recruitment, Selection, Training, Support, and Alumni in line with the organization’s overall vision, growth, development and impact strategyEffective and Efficient Implementation of following program 
  • Recruitment and Selection 
  • Training and Support 
  • Alumni Impact 

Enabling and nurturing Leaders 

  • Work with the team leads to creating alignment, community of learning and shared practices, culture driven by values, team effectiveness and efficiency, outcome driven norm for accountability, renewing self and others and model leadership

Develop internal capacity and systems to position TFN for ambitious growth

  • Coach and develop internal pipeline of leadership for Training & Support and regional operations team 
  • Ensure establishment of highly effective communication and collaboration processes within team and across other TFN teams 
  • Ensure establishment of systems to track fellows and student progress, evaluate effectiveness of training and support, and support TFN’s ambitious growth plans 

Building Partnership 

  • Network with individuals and institutions that can support further the mission and goal of each team, increase the learning outcome of students, Fellow’s effectiveness in the classroom and community, increase the impact of Alumni Movement as well as furthering the strategic goal/vision/ impact of our movement

Collaboration to achieve vision:

Education + Experience:

Requirements 

  • Masters degree related to Development Studies, Innovation, Strategy, Management and Leadership or any relevant area 
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience with at-least 4 years in managerial positions; 1 year of experience achieving ambitious outcomes 
  • At least one year experience in the Program Manager role (Preferred) 
  • Experience of working in complex environment; exposure to global scenario and local context 
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office and database applications (preferably Salesforce)

Location: Kathmandu based with few visits in placement communities to deepen the understanding of TFN and its work
