What we’re looking for:

• Solid grasp of Windows & Linux systems including networking concepts.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, New Relic, Pingdom, Sentry, TICK stack, ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
• Experience with GIT, bitbucket, or GitHub and the Features branching workflow`
• Experience with Amazon AWS (EC2, S3, CloudFront, Route53, RDS, autoscaling, ECS, Redshift)and other cloud platforms
• Knowledge in emerging DevOps tools (Spinnaker, Packer, Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes,Docker, Jenkins)
• Knowledge in Agile development environment
• Strong sense of urgency and ownership over critical problem areas.

Job Description

• Purpose of Role (“Mission Critical”): This role is to enhance the dynamic infrastructure our applications run on, and ensure stability, consistency, and security of our Production systems.
• Administer and build development Continuous Integration pipelines of moderate complexity.
• Setup build plans, assist developers with failures and manage software configurations.
• Ensure end-to-end deployments succeed and AWS resources come up in an automated fashion.
• Provide input on Cloud environment setup and implementation plan.
• Support developers with server troubleshooting and application errors due to environmental issues.
• Debug Production Outages and take actions resulting from root cause analysis.
• Monitor Production Environment and take action to keep systems stable and running.
• Implement Production Migrations (off-hours) and provide off-hour support when needed to troubleshoot problems with mission-critical applications.
• Support developers with dev tools setup to enable application development, such as Git repositories or Monitoring tool configuration.
• Coordinate and collaborate extensively with Agile Development Teams to ensure teams adhere to CICD guidelines in following DevOps processes
• Recommend and implement automated means that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including scripting, integration, problem resolution, and configuration management.
• Proactively seek out and minimize pain points
• Keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and introduce them as needed
• Create next-gen solutions for unique and challenging use cases.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Moderately experienced in: Bash, Chef, Powershell, Python, XML, Web concepts such as REST APIs and SPA, HTTP Get and Post
• Skilled with Development tools and methodologies, such as XML config files, Rest API calls, HTTP Headers and Response Codes
• Proven experience and understanding with Continuous Integration/Deployment Technologies: Atlassian Bamboo, Octopus Deploy, MSBuild, NUnit, GIT, Maven, Docker.
• Must have passion for technology and focused on automation.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal)
• Preferably certified in AWS skills
• Note: Collaboration with US team - need to work in US time zone for few months in order to get training/project knowledge

Education + Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required.
• 3 years of proven experience with Linux Administration, Windows Administration, and IIS Management. Deep understanding of IIS concepts and settings.
• 3 years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) – EC2, S3, Cloud Formation

Job Description:

The DevOps Engineer will be a hands-on technology expert that plays a pivotal role in architecting and designing engineering tooling systems and cloud infrastructure that enable Evolve engineering teams to scale quickly and reliably.

This role will support and collaborate closely with cross-functional product and engineering leadership focused on delivering features to our web platform.

This role requires expert level knowledge building custom DevOps solutions for modern web applications in AWS and GitLab CI/CD. The Engineer should be comfortable creating and maintaining Terraform modules and Deploying and Supporting Kubernetes clusters. Candidates must be comfortable creating strategy as well as leading tactically in a hands-on capacity.

What you’ll do

• Lead domain specific projects with autonomy to make decisions on design to develop and maintain tools for automation that reduce operational friction and increase engineering efficiency.
• Provision infrastructure with Terraform and create reusable modules.
• Champion collaboration with teams across the organization to identify DevOps needs and deliver solutions to advance medium and long term technology goals.
• Take ownership over the establishment and maintenance of Gitlab repositories, create new CI/CD templates and standardize the process of generating new git repositories.
• Enable teams to integrate and deploy code with CI/CD pipelines in a manner that is secure, reliable and efficient.
• Drive the creation, build and deployment of Pipelines using Gitlab.
• Experience with open-source frameworks for logging and monitoring, including ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Success in having provided technical leadership as a senior member of a development team.
• Expert Understanding of modern DevOps best practices and how to implement them.
• Expertise automating the provisioning of infrastructure (preferably Terraform).
• Expertise with one or more application monitoring tools as well as the ability to use those tools to verify the wellness of production environments.
• Expertise with one or more cloud infrastructure providers (preferably AWS).
• Expertise building deployment pipelines (preferably in GitLab, Docker and/or AWS).
• Experience participating in design sprints and the ability to prototype quickly.
• Ability to debug problems that span across systems, and design solutions that span the whole stack.
• Ability to identify and prioritize work in a manner that is in alignment with the needs of the organization.
• Previous success working in a Scrum environment as well as experience working with Agile and Lean methodologies.
• Expertise with Jira, Git and Confluence

Education + Experience

• 3+ years experience in a DevOps, Cloud or SRE role.
