DevOps Engineer

Job Description:

• Setup infrastructure for continuous integration, automated builds and automated build verification testing. Build and maintain infrastructure for development, QA, system demo and user testing. Create systems, utilities and scripts for automated deployment.
• Run system-level integration scripts or integrate manually where automation is not possible or hasn't yet been applied; Manage program branching models; Assist component teams in defining inter-component interfaces.
• End-to-End and System Performance Testing; Test system performance against NFRs and assist system architects in identifying system shortfalls and bottlenecks; Participate in Release planning and backlog refinement to define integration and testing stories; Create automated test scenarios
• Prepare System Demo at end of every sprint; help assure the environments are adequate to reliably demonstrate new system functionality.
• Release software into target environment; continuous improvement of release process including automation, tools and methods; post deployment verifications.
• Design and introduce software configuration management tools and practices.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience supporting highly available systems running Java EE web applications, Tomcat, MS-IIS, Jboss.
• Experience deploying Java EE and .Net packages to systems using scripts, RPM’s, Salt stack, Octopus, Web deploy, etc
• Experience with PL/SQL development.
• Experience with Linux and Windows OS and its command.
• A working understanding of code and script (Bash, PowerShell, Python, Perl) to automate manual processes.
• Experience working with source control systems, such as Subversion, and GIT including branching and merging strategies.
• Knowledge of multiple monitoring tools and how to mine them for advanced data.
• Experience in Continuous Integration leveraging tools such as Bamboo and Maven.
• Basic understanding of Active Directory, firewalls and networking concepts.

PREFERABLE SKILLS

• Knowledge with Software Configuration Management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt or others.
• Experience in providing solution design guidance to automate the deployment process and to maintain development and test environments to better match production is a plus.
• Experience on Docker or Kubernetes
• Understanding of Cloud infrastructure like AWS.

SOFT SKILLS

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Understanding of Kanban, Scrum and Agile is a plus.
• Persuasive in both written and verbal communication
• Strong Analytical Skills

Education + Experience

• 2+ years of experience in information systems with at least 1 year of experience in a software development environment for Java/.Net/Python based web application.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in Computer related studies

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps engineer that will help our team establish DevOps practice. You will work closely with the technical lead to identify and establish DevOps practices in the company.

You will help us build scalable, efficient cloud infrastructure. You’ll implement monitoring for automated system health checks. Lastly, you’ll build our CI pipeline, and train and guide the team in DevOps practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain, scale, secure and monitor existing infrastructure, suggest improvements
• Coordinate efforts of DevOps team to achieve team delivery
• Plan for capacity and utilization of infrastructure resources
• Improve instrumentation across different services, revise monitoring and alerting systems
• Collaborate with different stakes: business leads, devs and help flourish DevOps culture
• Empower different teams to attend and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
• Comfortable acting on the business crises (eg: waking up late at night to rescue business)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Infrastructure as code (terraform prefered)
• AWS services (EKS, IAM, ASG, RDS, S3, CloudWatch)
• Building CI/CD pipelines (GitLab prefered)
• Scaling services/workloads
• Saving money on Cloud billing
• Linux machines, scripting
• Comfortable managing HTTP/gRPC/Websocket application runtimes on .Net Core, .js, .py
• Working experience on certification like ISO27001, SOC2
• Experience in mentoring/advocating teams regarding best dev and ops practices

Education + Experience

• 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer

• Experience with Linux OS
• Knowledge of at least one programming language
• Implement and automate platform solutions that support secure access to  AWS Cloud infrastructure and compute resources
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS) operations.
• Scripting using Python, Bash or similar.
• Experiences using Version Control system like GIT
• Experience in CI/CD, creating Jenkins jobs, managing Artifactory/Repo servers Familiar with server and application monitoring tools and ability to implement them

Education + Experience

• Prior 2 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role
