Job Description:
Data Engineer here will be a bridge between the sales/business development team and the data acquisition team to build pre-packaged datasets. He/She will be responsible to identify and prepare such datasets along with insights.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Work with the Business Development team to identify viable datasets that can be packaged
- Build schemas and structures to analyze and organize scraped data
- Evaluate business needs and objectives
- Interpret trends and patterns in such datasets for marketing purposes
- Conduct complex data analysis and report on results
- Analyze and suggest other datasets (and sources) to augment such datasets
- Prescribe tests and standards to enhance data quality and reliability
- Identify opportunities for data acquisition
- Develop analytical tools and programs
- Collaborate with data scientists and architects on several projects
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- A desire to work in a collaborative, intellectually curious environment
- Highly analytical with advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Great numerical and analytical skills
- Data engineering certification is a plus
- Knowledge of Web-scraping is a plus
Education + Experience:
- Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a similar field; a Master’s is a plus
- Technical expertise in data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Java and Python)
- Hands-on experience with SQL database design is a plus
