Job Description:

This position is for an Associate Database Administrator. The successful candidate will maintain Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, Teradata, Vertica & MongoDB database environment in an enterprise consisting of approximately 250+ servers both on-premises and in Cloud. You will work with a distributed team of DBA's to manage and support key enterprise database systems that provide critical data processing services to internal and client-facing business applications and services. You will be required to have sharp learning curve with ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that these database platforms are highly available, optimally configured and efficiently managed, and for the operational support of large production EDW systems.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manage Oracle, Vertica, MySQL, Postgres, Teradata, Vertica and MongoDB data platforms
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes
  • Monitor system’s health and performance using industry standard tools
  • Analyze, solve and correct data issues in real time
  • Provide suggestions for solutions
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues and document changes
  • Assist developers with query tuning and data structure refinement
  • Change management, Release management & Vulnerability management
  • Manage backup and recovery process of database systems

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Good knowledge of Linux operating system administration
  • Ability to read/write SQL and shell script
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship

Education + Experience:

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications
  • 1-2 years IT operation with clear understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
