Job Description:
SQL Server Associate Database Administrators are responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems. Their main goal is to ensure the availability and consistent performance of various corporate applications.
Principal Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
- Manage SQL Server databases
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes
- Monitor system's health and performance
- Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time
- Provide suggestions for solutions
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with SSIS preferred
- Experience supporting development of web enabled applications (.net/SQL Server)
- Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices
- Proficiency in T-SQL
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Education + Experience:
- BS Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field preferred
- 1-2 years IT operation with clear understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
- 1+ years Microsoft SQL server experience
