Job Description:
- Monitoring and optimizing database performance, using tools such as CloudWatch and RDS Performance Insights for AWS-hosted databases, and traditional performance monitoring tools for on-premises databases.
- Implementing backup and recovery strategies for both on-premises and AWS-hosted databases, using services such as Amazon S3, Amazon EBS snapshots, and traditional backup and recovery tools
- Ensuring the security and compliance of all MySQL databases, using tools such as Amazon RDS encryption, AWS Key Management Service (KMS), and traditional security best practices.
- Automating database administration tasks, using AWS-provided services such as AWS CloudFormation, AWS Lambda, and AWS Systems Manager, as well as traditional automation tools
- Managing database scaling and resource allocation, both on-premises and in the AWS cloud, using services such as Amazon RDS, Amazon EC2, and traditional database scaling techniques
- Implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as Multi-AZ deployments, read replicas, and traditional database replication, for both on-premises and AWS-hosted databases
- Troubleshooting database issues, including performance, security, and connectivity problems, for both on-premises and AWS-hosted databases.
- Collaborating with development teams to ensure proper integration of databases into the overall IT infrastructure, both on-premises and in the AWS cloud.
- Staying up-to-date with new technologies and advancements in the field, including new features and capabilities of AWS database services.
- Providing on-call support and being available to respond to emergency situations, for both onpremises and AWS-hosted databases.
- Monitoring and managing database costs, both on-premises and in the AWS cloud, using tools such as the AWS Cost Explorer and AWS Trusted Advisor
- Must be familiar with proxysql, transferring data between servers, which may be distinct from each other
- Must be familiar with linux server
- Familiarity with MSSQL, Mongodb and other database is a bonus
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management from time to time
Education + Experience:
- Experience Required: 3 years and above
- Educational Level: Bachelors
