Job Description:

As a Sr. Software Development Engineer in Test- Data Quality you will be part of the Data Engineering team responsible for automating and testing complex and critical data pipelines of various projects and services that handle data for core business processes at Monotype with the best engineering practices. In this role, you will create and own QA processes end to end with focus on automation and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Experience in building custom automation frameworks in Python, Java, JavaScript for automated testing and data validation.
• Hands on experience on any test case management tool.
• Hands on experience in integration and database testing.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud data services (S3, Athena, Redshift, Big Query, Snowflake).
• Hands on experience with ETL tools, data pipelines and data formats (e.g. AWS data warehouse solutions incl. Glue and Apache Parquet).
• Experience with data quality tools (e.g., Talend Data Quality, Informatica Data Quality) is an advantage.
• Good to have experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence software.
• Good to have experience on JMeter or any relevant performance testing tools.
• Exposure to Linux commands and Docker or Kubernetes.
• Deep hands-on technical expertise in all QA practices and processes.
• Exposure to research automation systems/applications will be a plus.

As a Software QA Engineer, you will ensure software quality and reliability by designing, developing, and executing tests. Collaborating with the development team, you will identify and resolve issues using manual and automated testing techniques. • Suggest, implement, and update software Quality assurance practices and processes.

• Conduct manual and automated testing to ensure software meets quality standards and requirements for all platform products (Mobile, Web and desktop applications).

• Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables. 
• Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies.

• Perform different test to ensure product quality: Smoke Testing, Black Box Testing, Performance Testing, Security Testing, Regression Testing, Integration Testing & Database Testing.
• Perform Quality Control by conducting manual and automated testing to find defects and assure that the product meets design specifications and requirements. This includes isolating, reproducing, verifying and reporting defects, as well as implementing and maintaining automated tests such as Selenium WebDriver, TestNG and JMeter. 
• Perform regression testing to ensure resolved issues do not affect existing functionalities. 
• Effectively communicate and document all the defects discovered during the Quality Control process. 
• Identify any potential quality issues and escalate immediately to management. 
• Work closely with developers in an agile environment to ensure a high quality product. 
• Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues. 
• Ensure that testing activities are conducted in accordance with the testing strategy and plan. 
• Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation. 
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
