Job Description:

This position is for a Sr. Oracle Database Administrator. The successful candidate will maintain Oracle database environments in an enterprise consisting of approximately 200+ servers. You will work with a distributed team of DBA's to manage and support key enterprise database systems that provide critical data processing services to internal and client-facing business applications and services.  

Responsibilities: 

• Manage Oracle Database Systems and maintain enterprise OLTP, OLAP databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems. 
• Detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for performance improvement and document all architecture design and analysis work. 
• Plan, build, deploy and maintain enterprise OLTP and OLAP based EDW platforms and services. This includes proactive monitoring and tracking, and relevant data analysis and reporting. 
• Pro-active and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of database related issues in support of critical day-to-day business operations. 
• Responsible for establishing and enforcing consistent database standards, installation best practices, access protocols, profiling and benchmarking, and development, execution, and measurement of effective service level agreements. 
• Responsible for database capacity planning and efficient utilization of database resources based on performance, growth, and utilization trends. 
• Responsible for ensuring high-availability (>99.0%) of critical database systems and services and development, implementation and testing of failover and recovery plans for all critical database systems. 
• Participates in the setting of objectives, strategies, plans, programs, performance standards/measures and procedures, as a member of the IT leadership team. 
• Participate in on-call system administration support including but not limited to weekends, holidays and after-business hours as required to service the needs of the business. 
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior technical team members.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Demonstrated a thorough knowledge and progressively responsible experience in the implementation and maintenance of large-scale OLTP and OLAP systems in mission-critical environments including, but not limited to, Oracle 11g/12c/19c, Oracle RAC, Oracle Grid Control, Data Pump, Data Guard, Golden Gate, Oracle Directory Services, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Cloud Control, Oracle Database Performance Tuning and Database Resource Management on Exadata Systems.  
• Oracle Exadata Database Machine Administration and Performance tuning based on hands-on experience  
• Experience and expertise with at least one of the database technologies used in our products, preferably Oracle but also interested in MSSQL and/or Vertica and/or MySQL knowledge.  
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of database internals and data structures. Hands-on experience with database optimization and tuning. 
• Excellent hands-on expertise in SQL/SQL*Plus, PL/SQL, and Unix Shell or Perl scripting. 
• Knowledge of formal information security standards and best practices, including database system hardening, identity management, and database access controls.  
• Knowledge of HIPAA. 
• Demonstrated project management skills and ability to track and report progress against established milestones, metrics, and deliverables. 
• Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills with strong customer service orientation. 
• Positive attitude, ability to work in a team and ability to multi-task  

Other Skills: 

• Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment and willing to learn other database technologies (Oracle, Vertica, etc.) 
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) and/or Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) certifications will be advantage 
• Prior experience demonstrated thorough knowledge and progressively responsible experience in implementation and maintenance of large-scale OLTP and OLAP systems in mission-critical environments including, but not limited to, Oracle 11g/12c/19c, Oracle RAC, Oracle Grid Control, Data Pump, Data Guard, Oracle Streams, Oracle Directory Services, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Cloud Control. Experience with Exadata is plus. 
• Prior experience with Vertica Administration and expertise in VSQL. Good working knowledge of Vertica database architecture (column orientation, compression, projections, segmentations, partitions, high availability and recovery, security)

Education + Experience:

• At least 6 years of relevant experience in managing Oracle server databases versions 11g, 12c, 19c and later.

Job Description:

• Support software developers with database operations including the development of complex.
• SQL, tuning of DML, and the creation of stored procedures.
• Effectively coordinate and communicate with all the stakeholders (internal teams and stakeholders). Advise developers on the most efficient database designs. Set up and maintain database infrastructure.
• Learn relevant business processes and understand the data flow, criticality, and dependencies.
• Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, define SLA, and ensure support when required.
• Genera tetraces, and execution plans, identify performance issues, deadlocks/contention, and resolve them.
• Enhancements and improvements to Existing Database Systems Infrastructure.
• Determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware recommendations, server configuration changes, performance tuning, etc.
• Setup and test High-Availability as part Disaster Recovery Strategy for the Databases to ensure the ability to meet the business’s Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
• Execute data migrations to/from various platforms/engines and database upgrades.
• Maintain data integrity and security (manage roles and permissions of database users).
• Manage production, staging, and development database environments.
• Proactive housekeeping of databases.
• Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms.
• Create detailed documentation including diagrams of database infrastructure.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 Database Administration:

• Manage databases: MSSQLServer, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle.
• Administer AWSRDS for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
• Implement master-slave, active-active, and backup strategies.
• Optimize performance and conduct query analysis.

Cloud and Tools:

• Use AWS services: Redshift, S3, RDS.
• Implement SQLServer clustering and high availability (HA) technologies.
• Utilize SQL Server management tools like Redgate.

What we’re looking for:

• Working knowledge in MySQL andIn-Memory Databases (Redis, MongoDB, etc)
• Extensive experience writing T-SQL and stored procedures and query tuning on high transaction systems.
• Experienced in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Experienced in ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) development / data integration.
• Experience in creating data hooks for analytics tools like– PowerBi, Tableau, Insights.
• Sound knowledge of RDBMS concepts, database design and SQL/T-SQL.
• Experience in SQL Server Clustering and HA technologies including mirroring, logshipping, failover cluster and various replication technologies would be an advantage.
• Have knowledge of SQL Server management tools like Redgate etc.
• Knowledge of various database platforms (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, etc.)
• Good to have experience on Mulesoft.
• Postgresql and sound knowledge of oracle.
• Has an innovative approach to work, constantly looking to upgrade the system to more efficient and effective new technologies.
• Mono type is expanding globally. Proficiency in one or more of the following languages is desirable (not mandatory) for this role: German, Japanese, French, Spanish.
• Strong business sense and sense of urgency to achieve business results.

Education + Experience:

• 4-6 years of working experience in Advanced administration of databases like MS SQL server, MySQL (incl. Amazon Aurora).
