                                                                    Toolkit Developer

                                   A young advocates guide to SRHR advocacy and Intersectionality

Overview of the assignment

YUWA is seeking a qualified and experienced consultant to develop a toolkit on SRHR advocacy and Intersectionality for young advocates. 

This toolkit is being developed to help young advocates to design, develop and implement advocacy strategies focused on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), with introduction to international and national advocacy spaces and how to engage in them with the importance of intersectionality in SRHR advocacy and its incorporation.

The toolkit can be used by any organization or individual interested in the field of SRHR advocacy and the content should be appropriate to it. 

Roles and responsibilities

  • Coordinate with YUWA to finalize the contents and modality of the toolkit.
  • Review and collection of tools and information sourced from reputable and established organisations working in the fields of youth, advocacy and SRHR
  • Develop worksheets, examples and case studies to illustrate how to develop an advocacy strategy. 
  • Conduct KII and FGDs with young advocates and youth organizations to adapt their learnings and strategies in the toolkit.
  • Conduct regular thematic working group meetings with RHRN platform member for feedbacks and consultation on the toolkit
  • Pilot the toolkit with the support of YUWA
  • Develop the toolkit in both and Nepali and English Language.

Deliverables

The consultant will submit a final toolkit in both Nepali and English Language which can be used by young advocates and organizations to build on their SRHR advocacy.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Competencies

  • The Individual/Team Leader and Co-Lead must have University level education in sociology, social sciences or related fields and/ Knowledge or studies related to gender. (10 points)
  • Experience of gender analysis and gender related research will add value. (20 points)
  • Familiar with young people’s SRHR issues including safe abortion, marriage equality and comprehensive sexuality education. (20 points)
  • Proven experience and understanding of partnership-based advocacy and capacity-building projects.(10 points)
  • Experience of research, evaluation and uses of participatory approach. (10 points)
  • Proven experience of developing manuals and toolkits curated for young people.. (20 points)
  • Good communication, facilitation and interpretation skills (5 points)
  • Proficiency both in English and Nepali (5 points)

Duration

The total length of the assignment is expected to be One month (August 30 2020- September 30 2020)
