Job Description:

1. Sr. Project Officer, Resilience – 1 position 

Terms & Conditions: Fixed Term contract till 31st December 2021based in Kathmandu 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide technical and managerial support for effective implementation of activities related to Community Based Disability Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction and disaster management;
  • Provide technical support for Health sector preparedness activities: roster development, hospital preparedness/MCM planning and mock drill, health staff training, prepositioning etc.
  • Establish functional coordination with Government counterparts – Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration (MoFAGA) and Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) its related departments at Federal, Provincial and Local Government level; 
  • Capacitate project implementing partners (NGOs and four DPOs) in the project working districts; 
  • Contribute as an integral member in need assessment process and design/development of  funding proposals for resilience/DRM projects; 
  • Contribute to implement and develop Resilience/DRM intervention strategy of HI in Nepal in close coordination with technical unit and DRM stakeholders; 
  • Contribute for knowledge management, lesson learned documentation and writing monthly report and donors reports. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience mentoring staff and local organization and transferring skills and knowledge
  • Interpersonal skill to build and maintain effective working relations with all stakeholders
  • Creative and strong team player with strategic, analytic thinking skills
  • Excellent report writing and documentation skills

Education + Experience:

  • Master’s degree preferably in social sciences or DRM related discipline
  • Minimum 4 years of working experience of technical support to and/or management of DRR/DRM project portfolio
