Job Description:

TPO Nepal is seeking a competent, committed and result oriented candidate for the following position.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee implementation of the HASHTAG research project in the selected Municipalities/Village Municipalities of Morang district.
  • Assist in planning, designing and implementing research and intervention related activities of the project.
  • Supervise research activities including recruitment of study participants, trainings of RAs, coordination of consent during assessments, meetings with participants and their family members.
  • Coordinate with Municipalities/Village Municipalities and other relevant district level stakeholders for effective implementation of the project.
  • Proactively seek amendments to improve project activities, work closely with the PI and other team members to assure that the research activities run as planned.
  • Coordinate with the clinical team to manage implementation of the program in the selected schools.
  • Assure ethical compliance with the Nepal Health Research Council and programmatic compliance with the Social Welfare Council.
  • Attend frequent field visits to ensure the quality of data collection.
  • Participate in data analysis (particularly qualitative data analysis), academic publication writing and conference presentations.
  • Provide project activity reports to the principal investigator regularly.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Willing to work in multicultural environment.
  • Good command on both written and spoken English and Nepali languages.
  • Able to be actively mobilized in the field by driving scooter, motorbike or other vehicles.
  • Preference will be given to candidates having work experiences in development and implementation of school-based psychological interventions.

Education + Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Psychology, Population Health, Anthropology, Global health, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in research especially in mixed methods research (qualitative and quantitative research) and familiarity with quantitative mental health research tools.
