Job Description:

Position Title: Project Officer (Short-term Contract)

Location: Kathmandu

Salary: As per project rule (Negotiable) 

Duration: 3 months

The Project Officer (Short-term Contract) is responsible for planning, budgeting, implementation and monitoring of the RHRN project interventions working collaboratively with key stakeholders. S/he will ensure for smooth and effective management Right Here Right Now (RHRN) project with technical expertise. 

Roles and Responsibility 

  • Work closely with RHRN Nepal in project implementation to ensure quality and timely delivery of project activities.
  • Monitor and support the implementation of RHRH project.
  • Provide technical assistance in terms of RHRN to consultants in developing quality products such as CSE toolkit, CSE Manual, Online Course, etc.
  • Support Project officer in liaise and managing relationships and contracts with key project partners including provincial government agencies and local partners.
  • Support Project officer in developing project work plans including that of partner organizations.
  • Work Closely with PO and RHRN team in prepare quarterly and project progress reports.
  • Work closely with the team to share information and support the implementation on time and to ensure the project team works productively in field implementation
  • Participate in planning meetings and gather necessary information, as required
  • Support Project officer in developing and implementation of Project Detailed Implementation Plan.
  • Field test and make recommendations on the quality of project materials including CSE Curriculum, toolkits, and other project materials
  • Maintain database, records for case studies, photos, and other data for project planning and documentation
  • Coordinate all logistical issues for visits, project activities and other related things
  • Providing administrative support as needed

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Skills and Qualification 

Essential

  • Must have excellent writing skills and documentation experience. 
  • Must have technical knowledge (public health)
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office package and internet
  • Experience working in a youthful, multicultural environment
  • Experience in handling finances including budgeting and financial reporting
  • Experience with monitoring, including writing reports
  • Clear understanding of contemporary development issues especially Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights
  • A strong personal commitment to the values, aims and methods of YUWA
  • Passion, enthusiasm and interest in YUWA’s mission, honest and trustworthy, willing to engage in leading project activities.
  • Valid driving license (Motor bike/Scooty)

Desirable

  • Fluency in written and spoken Nepali and other languages local to Nepal 
  • Experience with partnerships, communication, and marketing

Education + Experience:

  • Preferably a Master's degree in Public health or work experience of 7 years in the public health sector. 
  • At least a bachelor's degree required and must have 5 years of experience.
