Job Description:

Climate Resilient project in Saptari district implementing partnership with OXFAM Nepal. For ensuring better implementation, monitoring and achieving quality results; Project officer need to play the crucial roles.  S/he ensures the better coordination and communication among the community, municipalities, local and district line agencies and KVS board.  These are some of illustrative major roles and responsibilities: 

Major roles and responsibilities: 

  • Ensure the quality and batter performance of the program, maintained closed coordination and communication with community, municipalities as well as and government stakeholders.
  • Establish cordial coordination and linkage with Donors, Line Agencies, Stakeholders, DDMC, LDMCand other Development Agencies for implementing programme with expected result.
  • Ensure on timely project implementation, monitoring and Compile and prepare periodic reports; and ensure the timely submission of narrative and financial reporting
  • Work closely with team to ensure the timely implementation of project activities and expenses as per work plan, M&E plan and budget; collect all necessary data, case studies, photos and others as required from the field
  • Develop monthly action plan, M&E plan and budget; collect all necessary data, case studies, photos and others as required from the field.
  • Support to assist baseline, endline, final evaluation
  • Conduct regular dialogue between communities, CSOs, school children and like-minded agencies working for Disaster Risk Reduction, and climate change adaptation.
  • Develop relationship with forest office, floriculture entrepreneur, social conservation office for technical support on identification of plant and plantation.
  • Develop smooth relationship with agriculture Officer, agro vet and local technician to promote climate resilient agriculture practices.
  • Support to Executive Director on overall project management including admin and finance issues and about new project design
  • Follow the instructions and suggestions from program coordinator and Executive Director.
  • Major time to be allocated in field (70%) and rest of time in office at Rajbiraj Saptari.

Duty Station: Rajbiraj with frequent travel (70 %) to project sites.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong skills on linkage, networking and communication with government and concerned stakeholders
  • Strong report writing and communication skills in English,
  • Should have fluent speak in Nepali, Maithali local language
  • Should have motorbike driving license. 
  • Able to frequently travel  in field sites
  • Previous experiences on disaster recovery, flood resilience, WASH, early warning and livelihoods etc would be added value
  • Good sense of humor and a team player

Education + Experience:

  • Should have at least Bachelor level (three year work experience) or Diploma  Level (Five year work experience) in environmental science/ Climate Change/ Agriculture science/Forestry/DRR
  • At least three-years of experiences with NGO/INGO sector in the field ofCCA/DRR/ Resilience, EWS, Climate Change or Agriculture/livelihoods and similar field.
