Job Description:

Enhancing CSOs role as key development partners in province no 2 with OXFAM Nepal.He/She will be responsible to manages implementation of all activities; supports, assists, and advises project staff on activity delivery; follow-up and regularly monitors activities, results and staff and prepares reports. He/she should develop the relationship with municipality ward CSOs and CBOs for ensuring better implementation, monitoring and achieving quality results. She/he ensures the better coordination and communication among the community, municipalities, local and district line agencies and KVS board.  These are some of illustrative major roles and responsibilities: 

Major roles and responsibilities: 

  • Provide direction to the program, Take lead for coordination and communication with community, municipalities, district line agencies and government stakeholders.
  • Establish strong coordination and linkage with municipality and likeminded organizations, CSOs and CBO and local communities in upstream and downstream communities.
  • Ensure on timely project implementation, monitoring and prepare periodic reports; and ensure the timely submission of narrative and financial report
  • Closely work with KVS team to ensure the timely implementation of project activities with collection of success story
  • Develop monthly action plan, M&E plan and budget; collect all necessary data, case studies, photos and others as required from the field.
  • Support to assist baseline, endline, final evaluation
  • Conduct regular dialogue between communities, CSOs, school children and like-minded agencies working for Disaster Risk Reduction, and climate change adaptation.
  • Develop relationship with forest office, floriculture entrepreneur, social conservation office for technical support on identification of plant and plantation.
  • Develop smooth relationship with agriculture Officer, agrovet and local technician to promote climate resilient agriculture practices.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong skills in coordination, networking and communication with government and concerned stakeholders
  • Strong report writing and communication skills in English and Nepali,
  • Should have fluent speak in Nepali, English, and Maithali local language
  • Should have motorbike driving license. 
  • Able to frequently travel  in field sites
  • Previous experiences on Climate change issues, flood resilience, early warning and livelihoods would also added value
  • Good sense of humor and a team player

Education + Experience:

  • Should have master’s degree (Five years of work experience) or Bachelor (Eight years of work experience) in environmental sciences/Forestry /disaster management / social science/agriculture/ natural resource management/Engineering.
  • At least five -years of experiences with NGO/INGO sector in the field of Climate Change Adaptation, Risk Reduction, Resilience, WASH and Agriculture
