Job Description:
- Legal Advisor will work closely with concerned person of the cases and BWAN board
- Advice and suggest clients concerning claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations
- Provide counselling and guidance to the clients regarding the case
- Analyze the probable outcomes of cases based on legal ground
- Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments for presentation of cases
- Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case
- Prepare legal briefs and opinions, and file appeals in courts
- Present and summarize cases to judges and juries
- Represent clients in court or before government agencies
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Skill on case management especially in documentation
- Skill of counselling to the justice seeker
- Information on human rights instruments especially about the convention of persons with disabilities
- Skill on advocacy and networking
- Experience of working directly with stakeholders, particularly to the cases (clients)
- Good knowledge of gender, inclusion and disability issues
- Excellent communications skills, in English and in Nepali
- Ability to stay in the field at least 30% of time
Education + Experience:
Bachelors in Law with good Grades
