Job Description:

Vacancy Call for Content Developer

The Strategic Partnership Right Here, Right Now addresses the limited respect, protection and the hindered fulfillment of the sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) of young people in 10 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America and in 1 sub-region, the Caribbean.

The RHRN platform in Nepal consists of 15 civil society organizations, including a host organization, YUWA, which is serving as the platform secretariat. The work of the organizations are focused on improving sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) of young people in Nepal.

Job title: Content developer for Awareness/Sensitization Videos. 

Reports to: SRHR program Officer

Location: Kathmandu

Contract Start Date: August 2020

Objective: To develop content for the production of animated videos. The resource person will develop a total of eight content out of which four will be on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Components of Comprehensive Sexuality Education in general and the content of the remaining four videos should link SRHR to the COVID-19 pandemic. All of these videos should be value clarification videos and knowledge based videos for sensitizing the audience on the topics.

Deliverables: 

  • Coordinated with line manager to decide on the topics of the videos
  • Research for relevant information for evidence based videos especially in National Context
  • Provide the script in English and Nepali.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide the content in a timely manner.
  • Make sure to use politically correct terms in the script. 
  • Make sure that the script is not insensitive to any social group. 
  • Make sure that the content is reflective of national scenarios 
  • Coordinate with line manager and production team to conceptualize the video.
  • Check-in in a timely manner with line manager for script development and changes.
  • Make sure the script is in simple language as to avoid confusions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Has a progressive stance on sexual and reproductive health and rights, specifically young people’s sexual rights and diversity. (20 points)
  • Strong writing skills with ability to present in a style that is accessible to readers. (20 points)
  • Proficiency both in English and Nepali. (20 points)

Education + Experience:

  • Bachelors or advanced university degree in social sciences or relevant discipline. (20 points)
  • 3-5 years of working experience in Comprehensive Sexuality Education. (20 points)
