Job Description:

Terms & Conditions: 1-year contract with possibility of extension based in Country Office, Kathmandu 

Position Summary: The Compliance Officer ensures the functioning of the organization in line with SWC requirement and will liaise with government bodies for HI Nepal’s projects and programmes and ensure that it has met all the SWC as well other government requirements/s. S/he will be required to train, monitor and support the local implementing partners to ensure compliance with Nepal government’s rules and regulations, SWC requirement as well as HI and donor rules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that HI Nepal is up-to-date and has complied with Government requirement/s
  • Coordinate with government bodies for the approval of various programmes and projects run by HI Nepal
  • Train/monitor/support the local implementing partners to ensure compliance with Nepal government’s rules and regulations, SWC requirement, HI and donor rules
  • Facilitate and be responsible for local partnership agreement and fund transfer
  • Organize and plan regular internal audit in the organization and partner organizations

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Government/ SWC requirements 
  • Knowledge of internal audit, audit and policy implementation
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical  and interpersonal skills
  • Should be able to travel on regular basis
  • Good orientation and training skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Nepali language

Education + Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Management/Economics or ACCA/ semi qualified CA preferred 
  • A minimum 2 years of relevant working experience preferably in auditing of development organization/s
