Project information:

EMILIA project (e-mhGAP Intervention Guide in Low and middle income countries: Impact and Acceptability) is a 3-years research project which aims to carry out a proof-of-concept study to use the e-version of clinical guidelines for the integration of mental health into primary health care on a mobile device, which aims to support in assessment and management of mental health problems. This is implemented in few Municipalities/Rural Municipalities in Jhapa district from February 2020.

Position:

TPO Nepal seeks competent, committed and result oriented candidates for the following position:

Post – Account Assistant

Duty Location: Birtamod, Jhapa

Starting Date: At the earliest

Duration: 1 year with possible extension for few months

Role Purpose:

The Account Assistant is responsible for providing day to day financial and administrative support to Emilia Project at TPO Nepal. S/he will be working at Jhapa office closely with Project Coordinator and have support to ensure that the TPO and Projects compliances are met. The position also requires preparing of periodic financial reports, reviewing financial reports, preparing vouchers/payments, posting financial data in accounting system (TALLY) and supporting administrative & logistic management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Key Areas of Accountability:

  •  Prepare payments, receipts of program operating expense & make vouchers of the same and enter accurate financial date in TPO accounting system (TALLY).
  • Manage all the financial transactions in computerized accounting package.
  • Maintain proper filing system of all financial and administrative documents, retrieving effectively for internal reviews and other proposes.
  • Ensure compliance of local laws, donor’s requirements and TPO procedures.
  • Ensure that donor’s compliances are met.

Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:

  • Knowledge of documentation & financial data analysis, good knowledge of Microsoft Office package and Internet tools.
  • Familiar with VAT and TAX system as per policies of Government of Nepal compliance rules and regulations
  • Prior experience of NGO grant management will be added value.
  • Familiar with accounting software.

Education + Experience:

  • At least Bachelor’s Degree completed in Commerce, Business Administration or Studies (B.Com, BBA or BBS) with at least one - two years of experience in the field of financial management, monitoring and internal control procedure.
